Job Description: Backend Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Backend Developer to join our team. In this role, you will be working closely with the team lead, frontend designers, and stakeholders from various departments to execute the deployment of our telemedicine e-commerce platform. Your main focus will be writing clean, scalable code and ensuring our backend infrastructure operates efficiently in a serverless environment using AWS services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain backend systems using Laravel, and in some cases Livewire
• Deploy, manage, and scale micro applications in a serverless environment using AWS services such as Lambda, DynamoDB, and API Gateway
• Utilize Laravel Vapor and Forge to streamline development and deployment processes
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or GitLab CI/CD
• Collaborate with the frontend team and other departments to integrate APIs and ensure seamless user experiences, We rely heavily on Segment, so experience with their APIs is a plus.
• Contribute to the ongoing improvement of our devops processes, including load balance planning, monitoring, logging, and alerting strategies
• Engage with the team lead to define and prioritize tasks, ensuring project goals are met on time and within scope
• Stay updated on the latest industry trends and technologies, continuously seeking ways to improve our products and processes
  
  

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Strong proficiency in Laravel and a solid understanding of the MVC paradigm
• Experience with Livewire for building dynamic interfaces within Laravel applications is a plus but not a requirement
• Hands-on experience with AWS services, heavy emphasis on those used in serverless architectures
• Familiarity with Laravel Vapor and Forge for server management, scaling and deployment
• Knowledge of GitHub/GitHub Actions or GitLab CI/CD for version control and continuous integration
• Basic understanding of frontend technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is obviously required, React / Next.js is a big plus but not required
• DevOps experience is beneficial but not essential; an interest in learning more about infrastructure as code, monitoring, and automation is encouraged
• Strong problem-solving skills, with a proactive and collaborative approach to work, (“I’m not sure but I can figure it out attitude is the only way you will make it long term”)

Job Description: UI/UX Engineer

We are looking for a creative and detail-oriented Frontend UI/UX Designer. In this role, you will work closely with the team lead, frontend developers, and stakeholders from different departments to build, plan, and execute a flawless design for our telemedicine e-commerce platform. Your primary goal will be to understand the needs and challenges of our users and stakeholders, and to design solutions that are not only visually appealing but also intuitive and user-friendly. They key here is to solve problems with beautiful and useful design, to solve problems that our users didn’t even know they had. No Pressure. Your favorite design tools are Figma, Adobe XD, or Photoshop and you love to create comprehensive design systems and user flows that guide frontend developers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Attend regular stand-ups and meetings with the team lead and stakeholders to gather requirements, understand pain points, and align on our objectives
• Develop and present design concepts, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes that reflect the strategic goals of the platform and address the needs of various stakeholders
• Collaborate with frontend developers to ensure design specifications are implemented accurately and effectively, providing guidance and feedback throughout the development process
• Identify potential problems before they arise and offer innovative design solutions that enhance the overall user experience
• Stay updated on the latest UI/UX design trends, tools, and best practices, continuously seeking ways to improve our design process and outputs

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Strong proficiency in UI/UX design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, or Photoshop, with a solid portfolio showcasing your design skills and thinking process
• Experience designing for e-commerce platforms, particularly in the healthcare or telemedicine sectors, is a plus but may not be required, DOE
• Excellent understanding of user-centered design principles, with the ability to translate complex ideas and user needs into intuitive, functional, and aesthetically pleasing designs
• Experience conducting user research and usability testing, with the ability to analyze results and apply insights to improve designs
• Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively communicate design concepts and rationale to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Attention to detail and a passion for solving problems through design, with a knack for anticipating user needs and creating solutions that are both beautiful and functional
